Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Coast

A chopper flying over a popular coastal shoreline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, finally dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as beachgoers watched.

Recordings posted on the internet depict the helicopter beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the coast, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a staircase near the coastal road.

Rescue Operation Update

Emergency responders stated five people were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.

Three persons on the pavement were harmed. Details on their condition were not immediately available.

What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
