The Australian selectors have left out Labuschagne from Australia's three-match ODI series against India, as in-form Queensland colleague Matt Renshaw receiving a surprise selection.
Labuschagne has been omitted from the ODI squad following being dismissed for one in each of his two innings during the top-end series against South Africa in August. He has a best innings of 47 in his previous ten ODI innings.
The 31-year-old has featured in 68 ODIs and scored 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now focus on earning a Test recall ahead of the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.
Labuschagne has shown signs of a return to form with a score of 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw scored a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
