Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to fans for his conduct when replaced in the recent intense Clasico clash win.

The Brazilian was substituted in the 72nd min and displayed his frustration by walking immediately to the dressing room.

Vinicius eventually reappeared to the bench and, following his side's narrow triumph, tried to confront the opposition's Lamine Yamal during contentious after the game incidents.

"This day I want to apologise to all the supporters for my behavior when I was replaced in the big match," the player posted on his account.

"Just as I have previously expressed during the latest training, I wish to apologise again to my colleagues, the club, and the president.

"Sometimes fervor gets the better of me because I continuously aim to triumph and assist my team. My winning mentality comes from the passion I have for this club and each thing it stands for."

The player moved to the Spanish capital from his former club in 2018 for millions and has notched triple figures in more than 300 games.

But his career in the Madrid is far from certain with reports in lately indicating that the club would consider letting the player depart if they obtained a suitable offer.

When Vinicius was substituted on the match day, broadcast footage from broadcaster Dazn picked him up saying: "Always me! I'm departing the side! It's preferable if I depart, I'm moving on."

In his new statement on social media, Vinicius commented: "I commit to keep battling at all times for the welfare of Los Blancos, as I have done since the first day."
